The water crisis in Australia has seen many hardships faced by the Australian citizen particularly those whom are heavy reliant on rain or impoundment supplies such as the agricultural sector.
The general public is aware of the need for instrumenting measures that conserve the precious supply's that we already have, the media has been extolling the crisis and well they should. However, rather than our elected officials choosing to use the governmental bodies and councils to control the issue to create solutions, they are instead, beginning to privatize our water assets to foreign multinationals.

Where we are based on the Gold Coast in Australia we have seen the surrounding councils water boards rolled into the South East Queensland water council, a lot of the individuals from the former institutions were dropped for a board which would act on government legislation to privatize all of our water assets.
It has been reported that the Tugun desalination plant will cost 1.3 billion dollars to the Queensland tax payer and 1.8 billion for the waste water treatment plant and pipeline. All of these projects going to a French company VISY after the projects are complete they will have management rights of both facilities for 5 years
Let me ask you how much more do you think we will be paying for our water supply when the reigns have been handed over to a privately owned corporation, who are not indebted to the people but rather their shareholders who care only for their dividends and the companies figures. Compare this to the past and current system where water was included in our rates based on the cost to local government to supply and maintain water assets
This issue has been afoot for well over a century elsewhere in the world, for to Australians up until recently we had managed to maintain a fair deal of sovereignty in our government, however now we have seen the deregulation of many formerly government run services.
This is an issue that is now beginning to rear its ugly head on our shores thanks mainly to the Elite and also the different international treaties that Australia has signed since World War II and the formation of the U.N. which have roped us into privatizing all services (or face what threat?)
There are many things to consider for a water storage compound the main thing being that the catchment area for the storage be free from industry and agriculture to ensure a clean safe supply. Another thing to consider is that if you place a dam across a river that you don’t deprive too much water from downstream so that you maintain a healthy environment.

FRASER ISLAND
In South East Queensland where we are about to spend the afore mentioned 3.1 billion dollars on expensive methods that will only see the further privatization of the peoples assets when there is a much cheaper quicker and better solution.
Facts about Fraser Island
* The Island is estimated at over 800,000 years old and is the largest sand island in the world.
* The dune systems dates back 30,000 years and are the oldest in the world.
* Some of Fraser Island's 40 lakes are estimated to be over 300 000 years old.
* This island is a huge lens of some of the purest fresh water in the world.
* It has an average rainfall of 1,800mm.
* The sand of Fraser Island goes down to a depth 30-60 meters below sea level.
* Groundwater is stored in huge reserves of about 10-20 million megalitres within the sand mass.
* Six million litres of this is stored above sea level.
It has been estimated that when it rains on Fraser Island that it takes 100 years for that water to leave the island from one of its many creeks. Also the islands water reserves are topped up by the ocean rising up through the sand, thus being purified along the way. Unlike the mainland a lot of these creeks run fresh right to the beach and therefore fit the bill for a water supply. If tapped at the beach none of the flora or fauna dependant on that source will be affected.

For example, Eli Creek pours over 4 million liters of the cleanest fresh water straight back into the ocean every hour! Some estimate up to 120 million liters a day! It may also be possible to pump the lakes if a sustainable rate can be accurately managed.

We have spoken personally to many people on this issue and are convinced that;

1. The flow rate of the larger freshwater creeks on Fraser Island would supply southeast Queensland impoundments and even have overflow that could be fed into the headwaters of the Mary River thus supplying the Darling Downs.

2. That it would be cheaper to the Queensland taxpayer than any other plan that currently exists requiring only pumping stations and pipelines
3. Would not require specialized services and companies from oversees and could be managed by the state.

4. That the pure sand filtered water of Fraser Island is a far better option than treated waste water and water from a desalination plant.
Truth Addicts propose that with the right management and research little damage to the island would result from a few pipelines and pumps. The pipelines could also be connected straight to the water grid currently being developed.

INTERNATIONAL BOUNDARIES

The first major problem is that the area is “World Heritage Listed.” Our government does not have the right to manage or control the very land they govern over! This bring the issue back to the Elite, before anything can be done our government need to take back the sovereignty of our nation before they will even be able to consider this proposal.

ABILITY NOT HOPE

We are a developed nation and there is no reason we can not build this type of infrastructure to secure our water needs we deserve a future where our children are born into a society that is free where all of our rights and services have not been eroded or vanished completely. It is also interesting to note that farmers have had to put meters on any naturally occurring springs on their properties and then pay the government for the water. More alarmingly it has been suggested that there is a push to introduce metering on household down pipes so we will all have to pay for the water falling on our own roofs!

Another thing to consider which is quite alarming is that the gross negligence in planning water infrastructure was actually deliberate in order for the public to embrace the idea of a privatized water network. It is the old thesis versus antithesis equals synthesis.
Unfortunately these are not the actions of a government concerned with the welfare of its constituents rather these are the actions of a corrupt leadership pandering to the demands of the profit driven Elite. Some would call it alarmist to suggest that under handed practices were being perpetrated by our governments toward us but the more you investigate the more you see how all the pieces fit.

It is time to consider these possibilities and not buy into illusion the Elite really care about the citizens of Australia and wish for us to have free clean water in the years ahead. If you read the words written by the Elite themselves you can see their motives are not that or free men. Nobody in this country elected the people who made these policies and they were never pass through our parliament. Backdoor deals and power hungry men seek to control all that is free and if the Elite could figure out a way to charge us to breath, who bets they would? Maybe a carbon tax...(see global warming article)...what do you breath?
